How are the leading doctors chosen?

Forbes Israel

Forbes Israel publishes its list of the best doctors in Israel once a year. According to the magazine, the list is not an editorial recommendation and is not based on patient ratings. Specialist physicians, who verify their identity in a dedicated system, recommend the outstanding doctors in each subspecialty of their own field.

"We asked them to recommend the doctors they would refer their own relatives to." Forbes Israel, on its selection method (translated from Hebrew)

To reduce bias, the number of recommendations for colleagues from the same institution is limited, and recommendations for doctors at other institutions carry more weight. Before publication, the list is checked with the hospitals: names, titles, specialty and position.

Dun's 100 Medical

Dun & Bradstreet's Dun's 100 Medical ranks the leading specialist physicians in each subspecialty and lists them in alphabetical order. The ranking is based on questionnaires completed by hundreds of doctors, in which they recommend the leading specialists in their field, and on consultations with hospital and department directors.
