About Dr. Chezar
Dr. Avi Chezar is a senior orthopedic surgeon and one of the leaders of shoulder surgery in Israel. For ten consecutive years (2017–2026) he has been ranked by Forbes Israel among the country's top three shoulder specialists, and since 2023 also by Dun's 100 – Israel's list of its 100 best physicians.
He serves today as a senior physician responsible for the shoulder service at Carmel Medical Center in Haifa, and operates privately at Assuta Haifa, Elisha Hospital and RMC Afula. Between 2017 and 2025 he headed the Shoulder Surgery Unit at HaEmek Medical Center, after serving as deputy head of its orthopedic department.
Dr. Chezar is among a small number of surgeons worldwide who perform the complex Latarjet procedure for recurrent shoulder dislocation fully arthroscopically – a closed, minimally invasive technique that allows faster recovery with fewer complications.
