## Commitment to accessibility

Dr. Avi Chezar's clinic attaches great importance to providing an equal, respectful and accessible service to the whole public, including people with disabilities.

We work to make the clinic's website accessible in accordance with the law applicable in the State of Israel and accepted accessibility guidelines, with the aim of allowing convenient, clear and equal use for all users.

## Standards and guidelines

We work to improve the accessibility of the site in accordance with the following:

- Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities (Service Accessibility Adjustments) Regulations, 5773–2013
- Israeli Standard IS 5568 for web content accessibility
- WCAG 2.1 guidelines at level AA

## Accessibility features on the site

The "Accessibility adjustments" menu is available from the contact bar on every page of the site, including the English pages and the physiotherapy pages. On a computer the bar is at the side of the screen, and on a mobile device at the bottom of the screen, where the menu opens as a panel from below. When any adjustment is active, an orange dot appears on the accessibility button. In the menu you can choose:

- Text size from 80% to 200%, in steps of 10%, using buttons or a slider, and a direct return to normal size. The enlargement applies to text only and keeps the page layout; large headings are enlarged more moderately so that they stay within the screen, and the top menu is enlarged up to the size that fits on one line
- Color and contrast: high contrast (black background), light contrast (white background) or a dark background – one option at a time – as well as grayscale display
- A readable font (Arial) and increased spacing between lines, letters, words and paragraphs, according to the values in the WCAG guidelines
- Highlighting links, highlighting headings and a prominent focus highlight for keyboard navigation
- A large mouse cursor, hiding images and videos (while keeping their place in the layout) and stopping animations, transitions and rotating carousels
- Reading aids: a reading ruler or a reading mask that follows the cursor, and read-aloud of a paragraph or heading when you click on it, when a voice in the page's language is installed on the device
- "Page structure" – a list of the headings on the page for quick navigation to each part
- Resetting all adjustments and deleting the saved preferences

The preferences are stored locally in the browser only, without being sent to a server or a third party, and apply to all pages of the site in the same browser. If storage is blocked, the adjustments keep working on the current page. Read-aloud uses only the voice installed on the device itself, and the text is not sent to an external service. More details appear in the [privacy policy and terms of use](https://www.catef4u.com/en/privacy#sec-3).

At the top of every page there are skip links – "Skip to main content" and "Open the accessibility menu" – which appear on the first press of Tab. You can open the menu with the keyboard, move between the buttons with Tab and Shift+Tab, activate them with Enter or the space bar, change the text size on the slider with the arrow keys and close with Escape or the close button. After closing, focus returns to the button that opened the menu. These tools complement the site's adjustments and do not in themselves constitute confirmation of full compliance with an accessibility standard. You can also use a screen reader and the browser's zoom.

## Keyboard and screen-reader compatibility

The site is adapted for keyboard-only navigation and for use with assistive technologies, including screen readers, through:

- Use of semantic elements
- A correct heading hierarchy
- Labelling elements with ARIA attributes
- Standard focus management within the site's components
- A "Skip to main content" link at the top of every page

## Browser and device compatibility

The accessibility tool is intended for up-to-date browsers on computers, tablets and mobile devices. The experience may vary between browsers, devices and assistive technologies. Embedded third-party components, such as maps and videos, may not respond to the site's text and color adjustments. Read-aloud is available only in browsers and on devices that have a voice installed in the page's language; when there is no such voice, the option is shown in the menu as unavailable.

## Accessibility limitations

Despite our efforts, some of the content on the site may not be fully accessible, among other reasons because of:

- Third-party content or components (such as maps, videos and external embedded components)
- Older content that has not yet been made accessible

We continue to work on improving accessibility on an ongoing basis and to close gaps as far as possible.

## Physical accessibility at the clinic

The clinic sees patients at several medical sites. It is recommended to contact us in advance for up-to-date information on the physical accessibility arrangements at each site, according to the arrangements of the place (accessible parking, entrance, elevator, accessible restrooms, etc.).

## Accessibility enquiries

If you have encountered difficulty browsing the site, or content that is not accessible, we will be glad to receive your enquiry and act to fix it as far as possible.

To help us deal with it efficiently, it is recommended to include:

- A description of the problem
- A link to the relevant page
- Browser type and device
- Assistive technology (if relevant)
